Analyst Unal: Turkey feels closer to Russia than to the U.S., including in the military sphere
Turkey now feels closer to Russia than to the United States, including in the military sphere, said Maltepe University professor Hasan Unal.
“I think the end of the Cold War and the unipolar world has given us many opportunities to strengthen our relations. We can safely say that Turkey now feels closer to Russia than to the United States. I mean in terms of political contradictions and cooperation in different spheres: trade, economics, finance, and also in the military sphere. Therefore, it is likely that our countries will continue to develop cooperation, strengthen their ties in various aspects, and we can do a lot,” he said at the Middle East Conference on the platform of the Valdai Club.
